James W. Boals, one of the prominent and prosperous farmers of Mifflin Township, died this morning.  He was born June 25, 1825.  Two sons, Wade and Frank, who are married and established in homes of their own, and a daughter, Louise, who lives at home, and his wife survive him.  The funeral services will be held Wednesday at the residence.  Interment at Koogle's Cemetery.

Mr. Boals was one of the best citizens of Richland County and possessed the esteem of every one who knew him.  He was a life-long Democrat and had been frequently solicited to become a candidate for county offices.
